The pilot project of the Autonomous Province of Trento relates to the experimentation of a prep-course for 10 young NEETs. To qualify these young people to complete the general or vocational education or to obtain an apprenticeship contract, their personal, basic and professional skills are reinforced and increased through work related learning activities and authentic tasks (here creating a meeting point for the school). The students interviewed both teachers and schoolmates to design the meeting point according to real user needs. Professionals and experts from companies supported the design process and the learning activities combined theory, practical workshops and specific internships. Through several modules that have seen the students analyze customer needs, prototyping and then implementing the work order about furnishing the bar, they have succeded in developing the useful and necessary skills to be able to fit into workplaces. Many students have had benefits from the internship experience because they were helped becoming more responsible and understanding what their professional interest is.
