The Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia is a territorial authority funded with constitutional law n.1/1963, with primary legislative competence with respect to its reference territory as regards vocational and educational training.

The Central Directorate Labour, Training, Education, Equal Opportunities, Youth Policy and Research is part of the regional organization and possesses the following competences:

a) Promotion and development of innovative methodologies to support activities directed to strengthen employment and vocational and educational training;

b) Activity planning to strengthen competences financed by the European Social Fund, by national and regional funds, guaranteeing the carrying out of checks on the related management system;

c) Planning, development and monitoring of training initiatives accompanying school activities;

d) Regulation and updating of programmes, promoting and supporting equal opportunities and ratial discrimination prevention.
